Five Basic Stitches Used in Cross Stitch Embroidery: Step four
Learn to combine a quarter stitch and a
half stitch to create a three-quarter stitch.
Here's How:
This diagram represents one square of Aida. To stitch a
three-quarter stitch, first bring the needle up at 1 and down
at 2, stitching a quarter stitch.
Next, bring the needle up at 3 and down at 4, stitching a half
stitch to complete the three-quarter stitch. Three-quarter
stitches may be stitched in any direction.
Variation: To stitch a three-quarter stitch variation, first
bring the needle up at 3 and take it down at 4.
Next, bring the needle up at 1 and down at 2, stitching a
quarter stitch. In this version, the quarter stitch is on top.
This enables you to stitch side-by-side three-quarter
stitches.
